SAC members attend conference

On Nov. 2-5, the officers of the RWC Student Activities Committee (SAC) attended a regional conference for the National Association for Campus Activities (NACA). The NACA Great Lakes regional conference was held in Louisville, Kentucky, for four days at the Galt House hotel. The four RWC students who attended were Dave Schroer, Steve Barnes, Laura Bradley, and Tina Selmeyer. They were accompanied by their advisor, Shelia Yates-Mattingly.

The students learned different subject matter in the educational sessions from diversity issues, differences in personalities, leadership skills, and much more. They had an opportunity to meet other students from college campuses across the Midwest and trade ideas.

One of the highlights of the convention was an opportunity for all the students to observe entertainment such as comedians, bands, magicians, speakers, and others. They have an opportunity to meet with agents and talent to see about bringing them to their campuses.

The RWC group brought home a lot of material to check out and hope that they can bring some new ideas to RWC.

They will be putting together a short survey for input on what the RWC students would like to see on campus. If you have any ideas, feel free to bring them to a meeting.

SAC meetings are held on Mondays at 5 p.m. in the Student Lounge, Room 102 Muntz, or you can contact SAC by email at .
