Dr. Judith Spraul-Schmidt is a new American History professor at RWC. A Cincinnati native, she received her doctorate from UC. Previous to teaching at RWC, she taught at UC’s Evening College and McMicken College of Arts and Sciences. She specializes in historic preservation studies. She is also on the UC Advisory Committee for the Preservation Studies Certificate Program. In addition, Dr. Spraul-Schmidt serves on the City of Cincinnati Conservation Board, a group interested in dealing with legacies of the past through historical artifacts. Among other classes she taught at the Clifton campus were the History of the American City (formerly known as Urban History) and History of Cincinnati.
Dr. Spraul-Schmidt notes that her goal “is to encourage students to develop their own informed understanding of what choices people made in the past, and whether they were good solid choices.”
Dr. Spraul-Schmidt currently teaches American History and American Issues and Problems at RWC.
