RWC Security

“The buck stops here,” declares Officer Fred Davidson, when asked about the RWC Security force. RWC security is a fully operational satellite office for the UC Police Department, not only interconnected with the Clifton Campus but with law enforcement all over the city. Not only do security officers assist students with car trouble, first aid or lost and found, but they can also perform a full range of police work for the campus.

They handle a wide variety of problems like domestic violence, restraining orders, and theft, and can even carry out arrests not only on campus, but also, because of a mutual aid agreement, anywhere in the city of Cincinnati and Blue Ash area.

The Security Office here at RWC is considered a specialty position, in which qualified individuals with good standing service records are considered to fill vacant positions. Believe it or not, it is a very popular position that comes as a certain kind of reward for good service in the UC system. Besides working here, Officer Fred Davidson is a law enforcement instructor and peer counselor, and his counterpart Mary Hartman developed the bike patrol of the Clifton campus.

The truth is the Security force here at RWC does a lot more than you think. Every resource that the college and local law enforcement offers is available through the RWC Security Office. So if you have any questions or problems, don’t hesitate to stop by the Security Office in Room 99 Muntz Hall.
