The American Heart Association is stressing the need for Automated External Defibrillators (AED’s) in all places of business, and RWC may be getting one. Research reveals that the chances of survival are improved significantly if an AED is applied as soon as possible to a victim of cardiac arrest.
The RWC Building and Grounds Committee met in February to discuss the idea of sending the request to Dean Bardes to approve the purchase for each college building. The Committee discussed how the AED’s could be made for immediate use and who would be responsible for receiving training and responding to emergencies.
It was suggested that security receive medical training for AED’s and be responsible for responding.
