The word is out that UC faculty, if not given what they desire, will strike. And I don’t mean the baseball kind either. So what does that mean for us, the students? A lot.
First, if the faculty were to strike, most of them, if not all, would not cross the picket line. This of course would result in no classes from those Professors who choose not to cross the line. Yes, that is right, no class.
Second, one may ask, “For how long?” As long as it takes for the union and administration to strike a deal.
So, if they were to strike, where does that leave us, the students? Hopefully, we will be able to attend our classes. After all, we paid for them. And if we are not able to attend classes due to the strike, we ought to be able to receive compensation for this quarter.
In fact, the student’s traveling expenses ought to be paid for by those responsible for the strike.
