Edgar Wern looks like your average student, although he is often mistaken as a professor because of his elegant wardrobe; in fact, it is rare to find him without a suit on. He is a 49-year-old entrepreneur, who works at Gentry’s clothing store for a living. However, his passion does not lie with the clothing business. Rather it rests upon the thirst to endeavor towards the truth of life and spirituality.
Wern, along with a dark rich cup of coffee, will spend hours at used bookstores in hope of finding a gem amongst the dust piled books. Not only does he search for treasures at second hand bookstores, but he also is in pursuit of academia.
Wern attends RWC. He does not have a degree in mind. He explains that it is the knowledge that he pursues, not the piece of paper: “Degrees are for those who need validation,” he declares.
