If we can for a minute, forget about the come from behind win against Houston last Saturday, a win that propelled the Bearcats to the top of the C-USA standings and their best conference start since 1964. All of those feats fade in comparison to Gino Guidugli.Gino Guidugli has broken the mold of the Bearcat quarterback. This mold I speak of is the traditional passer, the “stay in the pocket hit your man in stride” passer.
UC has lacked this type of passer in the past, maybe since Greg Cook in the 60s. Greg Cook played from 1966-1968 and holds the record for the most 300-yard games with six.
Gino Guidugli has thrown three so far this year and has four games left. Let’s not forget that he is also a freshman and that he has three more years.
There is a bright future for the Bearcats, and his name is Gino Guidugli.
