This week is Sexual Assault Awareness Week, and the following events are scheduled to support awareness of violence against women:Tuesday, November 13
The White Ribbon Campaign, Men Against Violence Against Women: 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Location: Brodie Plaza.
Men’s Work: Fraternity Brothers Stopping Violence Against Women. Free BW3s will be served at 5 p.m. Film from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Discussion will follow.
Location: German Cultural Center.
Wednesday, November 14
Food 4 Thought. Phyllis Harris from Cleveland Rape Crisis Center will be speaking on same sex domestic violence. Free lunch and lecture at 12 p.m.
Location: African American Cultural and Research Center.
Thursday, November 15
The Clothesline Project, a visual display of T-shirts designed by domestic violence survivors as a way to express their personal experiences and feelings, will be displayed on top of Brodie Plaza 11 a.m.-2 p.m.
Self Defense class will promote women’s empowerment, assertiveness, safety strategies, and simple effective physical defense. The class will be from 6-9 p.m.

Friday, November 16
Take Back the Night. Vigil will feature an acoustic guitar performance by Tracy Walker, 8-10 p.m. Bring your own poem or song that speaks to violence against women. Contact Vinnie Ray 556-6261 if you or your group is interested in sharing poetry or a song in the program.
