The UC Chapter AAUP Board of Directors has set January 3, 2002, as a strike date. If the AAUP and the UC administration are not able to resolve differences in contract negotiations, the Board said that the AAUP Bargaining Unit will strike on that date, which marks the beginning of the university’s winter quarter.
The Board issued a statement that said, “The AAUP continues to hope that the differences between the faculty and the administration can be resolved through the process of mediation; however, if that process fails, the faculty will strike.”
