Federal student aid applications ready Jan. 1

The 2002-2003 Free Applications for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) will be available to students after January 1, 2002, according to the RWC Enrollment Office. The renewal FAFSAs will be mailed to students in December but cannot be submitted until January, and because some aid programs are awarded on a first-come, first-serve basis, an early application receives priority consideration for limited funding sources.

All students are encouraged to use the web to file their financial aid applications.

Current UC students receiving financial aid will be receiving a PIN number mailing from the U.S. Department of Education in late November or December. The PIN number can be used to pull up their Renewal FAFSA on the web and to sign their web FAFSA.

Parents of dependent students are encouraged to request a PIN number for themselves. They can do so at www.pin.ed.gov. Students who misplace their pin number or those who do not get a mailing by mid-December can use this same website.

Web filers who have a PIN (including one parent) do not need to send in signature pages. The FAFSA and Renewal FAFSA can now be entirely done via the web.

Also, the Enrollment Services Office currently located in Room 100 of Muntz Hall will be moving to Room 211 Muntz Hall on December the 18 in order to begin renovations in the first floor hallway.
