RWC will host the State Competition of Business Professionals of America (BPA) on Friday and Saturday, February 22-23. Students from various colleges in Ohio will assemble at RWC and compete in various events from Interviewing to Visual Basic Programming to Advanced Accounting. Students may choose to participate in up to three events from over 75 competitions. Each college may send five students per event. Competitions will also include team events such as Small Business Management, E-Commerce, and Website Development.
The top four students in each event qualify to go to the National BPA Conference in Chicago, Illinois, on May 8-12, 2002, to compete nationally with other colleges.
Students may run for state and national offices of BPA to develop leadership skills. The state President for 2001-2002 is Josh Wallace, an RWC Computer Support Technology student. He will be presiding over the meeting in February.
Two RWC students are running for state officer for the 2002-2003 term. To learn more about the competitive events, go to www.bpa.org.
