Ellison to get Staff Distinguished Service Award

(Editor’s Note: This is the first of a series of feature articles this quarter focusing on the 2002 honorees for Distinguished Staff, Distinguished Teaching, and Distinguished Alumni awards.)On Friday, April 19, at 6 p.m., Raymond Walters College will be holding its 2002 Awards Ceremony in Room 100 of the Science and Allied Health Building. One of this year’s honorees is Mary Lou Ellison of the Disabilities Services Office. She will be receiving the Staff Distinguished Service Award.

Mary Lou Ellison received her Masters in Addiction Studies in the Criminal Justice division through the College Of Education at UC. She spent 12 years as a student worker and the past seven as a Disabilities Specialist. Aside from her duties in Disabilities Services, Ms. Ellison has worked on several ad hoc college committees and is presently on the Land and Forest Committee, whose job is to design pathways and landscaping around the college.

She has also participated in the Adopt-A-Family program. Ms. Ellison is presently studying for certificates in Addiction Counseling and Addiction Prevention.

We congratulate Mary Lou Ellison on her achievement and thank her for her service at Raymond Walters.
