Radiology Club wins first place in State competition

This past weekend RWC Radiology Club members and program faculty and staff competed and won big at the Annual Meeting of the Ohio Society of Radiologic Technologists (OSRT) in Columbus. Along with attending continuing education seminars and interacting with other students and technologists in Ohio, RWC students participated in the OSRT Student Quiz Bowl Competition and earned a well-deserved first place.

In a field of 15 teams from across the entire state, the RWC team went undefeated and won the entire tournament. Members of the winning team were Andrea Clark, Shelia Crump, Jessica Gray, Krista Parinello, and Jeremiah White.

The team was awarded with a traveling plaque to keep for the upcoming year, a permanent plaque for our classroom, and each team member will also receive a one-year membership to the OSRT after graduation.

Many of the team members spent months preparing for the competition by arriving to practice early and staying late. More, the majority of the studying and practice was done on the students’ own time.

All of the students and faculty of the Radiology Club were honored at a banquet Saturday evening. Program Director Angie Arnold says the Radiologic program is extremely proud of how the team represented itself and the college as a whole.
