RWC grad gets phlebotomy certification

Alison Saxbury, a June 2001 graduate of the RWC Medical Assisting Services Program at RWC has earned her certification in phlebotomy from the International Academy of Phlebotomy Sciences, Inc. in Columbus, OH.
Saxbury took the Phlebotomy Standards and Practices test at the Alliance Business Center, formerly Jewish Hospital on Burnet Avenue in Cincinnati on September 14. She was awarded her certificate and pin on October 23, 2002.
Saxbury is employed by Dr. Michael Katz, MD, in Finneytown as an OB-GYN medical assistant. As a student at RWC, Alison was a member of the collegiate organization of medical assistants (COMA), and is currently serving as the graduate member of the Medical Assisting Advisory Committee.
Students completing the MA program and performing a qualifying number of venipunctures are eligible to challenge the standards test.
