Single parents have scholarship opportunity

The Single Parent Intervention Program (SPIP) scholarship is an educational opportunity providing single parents the opportunity to begin college or assist in continuing their college education. The chosen candidate may take a course in the summer or during the school year. The following criteria must be met by interested candidates:

Candidates must

* be a new, returning, or continuing student
* be single
* be a high school or GED graduate
* be the custodial parent
* have a financial need
* have a strong desire to attend/continue college
* have earned a minimum 2.0 GPA (those with previous college experience)
* commit to course completion

Interested candidates may apply through the application located in the Financial Aid Office. Deadline for applications is May 30, 2003.
