The end is near…As I write this column, we have had a couple of very hectic weeks around the Student Government office. The student awards ceremony is this week, Spring Fling is next week, and the elections are in progress now. It will be my pleasure to present the Outstanding Student of the Year Award this Friday to Elisha Godfrey, a second-year Nursing student. Elisha is a very active person on our campus, so many of you probably know her.
I would like to take this opportunity to commend Dave Shroer, SG and SAC member, who has been working very hard to make the Awards come off without a hitch. Donald DeArmond has been instrumental in putting everything together (barring a large number of ‘write-in’ votes, Donald will be your Student Body President next year).
One final bit of info, before I close this column-keep Wed., June 4, 11:30-1:30 p.m. open. Team SG has been working hard to put together an end of the year ‘event’ for the students. It is called TGIO-Thank Goodness Its Over (a name given to us by our retiring Dean Bardes, who has also pledged the money to pay for a DJ). We have contacted many local businesses and have secured cheap food for that day, as well as ‘door-prize’ giveaways. We will have games, music and fun, for the end of what has been a long, hard year.
Thank you for reading, and I hope to see you there!
Tim Bentley, SG President
