Notable Quote by Wade Morgan

Dear Editor,After reading “Notable Quote”, I felt compelled to write. I understand how it is to be young and idealistic. But at 53, I also understand how age brings wisdom. I disagree with the attitude expressed by Wade Morgan in “Notable Quote”. Perhaps Mr. Morgan is against the war against terror, which includes the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. But his simple explanation for this war is just TOO SIMPLE. It is as if we are a huge herd of sheep being led to the slaughter. Believe me Mr. Morgan, there ARE those who BELIEVE in this fight. There are those who aren’t afraid to fight, for it is evil that is our enemy.

There is good and there is evil. Adolph Hitler was evil. He deserved to be pounded down to a pulp. So are all terrorists and all of their desires. If we try to peacefully deal with these criminals, they will eventually come to kill every last one of us.

We now have a true LEADER; someone who is not afraid to take the fight to the criminals. He is not leading me by my nose, like an animal to slaughter. I am standing BEHIND him, every step of the way.

Oh, the innocence of youth. I was there once. I grew up in the days of hippies and peace marches and the true bliss of ignorance.

Now I march to a different drum. It is strength and courage that I respect; not weakness. Turning the other cheek does not work with terrorists. War is exactly what it will take to defeat them, for that is the only thing that they truly understand.
