Get Packing

Where has the school year gone? Summer is right around the corner and that means summer vacations.
When I am planning a trip I start by asking myself a couple of questions. First, where would I like to go? And second, how much will it cost to get there and back? To get an answer to that last question, more of us than ever are turning to the internet. Therefore, I took it upon myself to compare the prices of two of the best known travel discount sites: Expedia.com and CheapTickets.com
Using Daytona Beach as my destination, I compared the prices and amenities available through each site.
The first thing I discovered was that because Daytona Beach is a hot spot for young adults the prices are expensive. Nevertheless, Expedia.com offered prices ranging from $585.94 per person all the way up to a two thousand dollars for a round trip flight and hotel for seven nights. I settled on the Surfside Resort. It is located on the beach and has a jacuzzi, ocean front pool, pool bar and a lounge.
Then I checked CheapTickets.com and chose a Days Inn. The price was $100 cheaper, but it is located two miles from the beach.
After this brief comparison, I concluded that both sites offer some good values, but in the end, it still comes down to deciding what you want most. In my case, it is worth the extra dollars I’d pay through Expedia just to have all of the amenities. The best thing I learned, however, is that there really are options and to find what is best you need to check more than one site.
