It was the second day of my period and I had run out of pads to line my underwear. I had a tampon in place, but god knows I needed the extra security of a liner of some kind. I searched everywhere in the school. First I went to the bookstore. But let me tell you something. There is no way in hell I was going to pay $3 for a pad. So I went to the little girls room. Now in most public establishments, there are these white tampon/pad dispensers that all women are familiar with. Not here. So I went to another one. Again, no dispenser. I started running around the school looking for a pad dispenser. I finally found one on the second floor Ladies room by the vending machines. When I saw it I thought Hallelujah. It was broken. Apparently it doesn’t work. I spent five minutes finding this out. That dispenser now has a nice dent in it. Now because I am a good samaritan and cannot keep my mouth shut, I went to the admissions office, to complain. There the ladies felt pity, but told me to go to the Bookstore. When I told them the aformentioned price of pads. The look on their face was sufficient. One of the ladies I shall not mention which gave me two pantyliners. Which all women know is a male conspiracy as they don’t work. I left. Put the liners on and headed to the Deans office. Suffice it to say. The crisis should be averted. However, I don’t care what is said. Tampon/pad dispensers should automatically be put in ever women’s restroom. It’s common courtesy. It’s basic neccesity. The problem is that Muntz and many buildings are built by men. Men who do not know about women’s needs. When a woman gets her period it is an emergency. We all know, that if a man was bleeding from any part of his body, he would be able to get a first aid kit. So why is a woman any differant?
