The UC English Composition Committee is currently accepting entries for the Eighth Annual Student Writing Contest. The contest is open to all UC students who have been enrolled in an English Composition course from Spring 2004 through Spring 2005. Essays must have been initially written to fulfill an assignment in an English Composition course. Cash awards will be given of $100 for first prize, $75 for second prize, and $50 for third prize, as well as UC Bookstore Gift Certificates for honorable mention.
Additionally, students could possibly win a Grand Prize of $200 for an exemplary essay or a $500 scholarship for an essay in the “Just Community” category.
Applications can be found in the RWC Writing Center or from any English Composition faculty. Entries must be submitted by April 22.
