Music: Eisley a band with a new and unique sound

Eisley may be a young band, with their oldest member at just 23, but their songs sound like the products of experienced music makers. Comprised of four siblings–Chauntelle, Sherri, Stacy and Weston DuPree and family friend Jonathan Wilson–Eisley might be getting a lot of attention soon. The reason that they sound like such seasoned musicians, singers, and songwriters despite their young ages is that they’ve been writing songs since they were just kids. The band was started years ago by the eldest DuPree sisters Chauntelle and Sherri who were only 15 and 13 at the time. They were reluctant to accept eight-year-old Stacy, but eventually she proved her worth through her talent for songwriting.

Later their brother and good friend Jonathan were recruited to play drums and bass so that they could play at their family’s coffeehouse and Eisley was born.

Their music has roots in indie and emo rock, but it has an ethereal flowing sound that you won’t find with many other present day artists; they’re often compared to 90s bands like the Cranberries and Sixpence None the Richer, but they’re better. The DuPree sisters are real vocalists.
