The UC Student Writing Contest is being held again this year and is available to all English Composition students throughout UC. The university-wide event accepts papers written in English 101, 102, and 103, or essays from the Just Community category.
Each category will receive First, Second, and Third Place prizes, as well as Honorable Mention awards.
Cash prizes are awarded to the best placing essays. Marlene Miners, RWC Professor of English, says that RWC students have done well in this contest in the past, and that they shouldn’t be discouraged from entering, even though it is a University-wide contest.
Entry forms are available in the RWC Writing Center. The deadline for entry is April 22.
