Rainy day confessions: smoke elsewhere

Imagine this: My day starts with waking up to the cold pouring rain outside. I am then forced to sit in stopped traffic on the highway because for some reason people lose all ability to drive in the rain. I get to school and have to park a mile away from my building.

I trudge through the rain at 8:55 a.m. trying not to be late. As I get closer and closer to the door, I get wetter and wetter, but I can’t wait to get inside.

Then, just as I approach the door, I am forced to walk through a cloud full of cigarette smoke blown directly in my face.

Who needs that?

Every single time it rains, all the smokers huddle around the doorway trying to stay dry and warm. This wouldn’t be a problem if you didn’t have to deal with second-hand smoke every time you walk in or out of the building.

Even smokers don’t appreciate a cloud of smoke in their face; it just really isn’t pleasant.

So maybe from now on smokers could keep this in mind and stand somewhere other than the doorway.

Or another solution could be that Raymond Walters needs to provide smokers with a better shelter to stand under during bad weather.

Either way, why should I or you have to put up with this?
