Vet techs and furry friends see promise in new home

After years of being taught in the Medical Science Building on Clifton campus, RWC Veterinary Technology students have a new place to learn, thanks to the brand new Veterinary Technology Building located on the RWC campus.Dr. David Bauman, Director of the program, is very pleased with the new building and says it has a lot of potential. Dr. Bauman expressed that the building has more space, which is more conductive for learning for the students and better for the animals. The cats and dogs have their own exercise areas. Dr. Bauman loves that the animals can interact with each other and the students in an outdoor area.

The department is planning to intitiate office visits for RWC pets for heartworm checks, feline leukemia testing, etc., but the program will have to comply with many animal related regulations so that can be approved.

In the meantime the department is more than happy to educate caregivers of pets how to properly care for their animals. Dr. Bauman has it in mind that the program will closely interact with the students of Blue Ash Elementary to educate them on pet care, good pet ownership and the results of interacting with animals.

The students of the Veterinary Technology Program may have a new place to learn, but the care and commitment to the animals is still strong in their hearts.

Ths students and faculty of the program would also like to let the RWC community know that all the animals utilized for instructional purposes at the veterinary clinic are put up for adoption and will need a good home.
