I recently took the time to sit down and play a video game that has been advertised out the wazoo–Ultimate Spiderman. The game goes back and forth between you playing as Spiderman and Venom. I thought I could choose the character I wanted to play as from the get-go. Instead I had to alternate between Spiderman and Venom throughout the game.To learn the basic moves, the game started out with me fighting Venom, and I had to lead him away from the school football field. From there I had a rough start with the game going where I needed to go.
Finally, after saving a few people and racing with Johnny Storm from The Fantastic Four (easy race, Spiderman wins) comes the first mission. I was ready to go, and from there on out it was easier to follow the map (I guess this is what I should’ve done in the beginning, ha ha).
Here’s where you start playing as Venom and learning the basics of how to play as him. You just basically have to destroy some thugs and feed on people to gain energy.
The end, though, is what got me. Wolverine is in the game! You have to defeat him with Venom. The best way to do this is fight from a distance. Up close and personal with Ole’ Wolvie is not a smart idea
After you finish up with Wolverine, you return playing as Spiderman. A news report comes on after this and states that a huge robotic rhino is terrorizing the city.
Just follow the arrows through the city. While traveling through, you have to save some citizens from the wreckage the R.H.I.N.O has made. Once you catch up with him, R.H.I.N.O swats Spidy into a building and the chase continues. Once you finally get to the end, the battle with R.H.I.N.O takes place in two separate areas. First you fight in a construction sight and then a used car lot.
Once again it is time to play as Venom. Basically all you do with Venom this time is defeat some of Silver Sable’s mercenary army. Be sure to feed on civilians to keep your strength up. Throw cars at the mercenaries to take out groups of them.
Back in the seat with Spiderman, you have to fight off Venom. His suit is basically causing Spidy to have a major headache. After you defeat Venom, Silver Sable and her mercenaries capture Venom and take him off.
This is the point where I stopped playing. Overall, once you get into the game it’s hard to put the controller down. The game is fun to play. It’s a good choice for any gamer into comic book hero video games. A good alternate to this game would be X Men Legends II.
