Every ten years RWC is visited by the Higher Learning Commission for reaccredidation. The next HLC reaccredidation team visit will be in Spring 2009, and RWC has already started preparing and getting ready for the visit. No reaccredidation means bad things for RWC. For the accreditation visit, the College must have someone in charge of preparations. Dr. Don O’Meara, Associate Dean of Academic Affairs, recommended Professor Marlene Miner, and Dean Dolores Straker has appointed her as the HLC Self Study Coordinator to guide the college through its self study process in preparation for the 2009 team visit. “Professor Miner has provided significant leadership in numerous critical initiatives in the English and Communication Department and at the college, university, state and national levels,” Dean Straker said. “This experience makes her the perfect candidate for this extremely important position.”
In the role of HLC Self Study Coordinator, Dr. Miner will be the chair of a Self Study Steering Committee with membership representing the college’s governance structure. As the Self Study Coordinator, she will report to the Associate Dean of Academic Affairs, Don O’Meara.
