UC establishes disposable student ID numbers

In a world where protecting personal information, including social security numbers, is important, UC announced recently that all student IDs will now have what is essentially a sixteen-digit disposable ISO number. RWC enrollment and student eligibility will be verified using this ISO number. Student ID photos are taken by Student Life, located in the Flory Center. New IDs can be picked up one week after taking the photo.

In order to have the photo processed, students must show a valid driver’s license or state ID along with a copy of their current schedule with name and social security number printed on it. Copies of current schedules can be obtained in One Stop or by going on-line to View Bill.

While there is no charge for a student’s initial ID, there is a fee for a replacement.

Student Life’s hours of operation are Mon., Tues., and Thurs., 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., Wed., 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Fri., 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Call 745-5773 for more information.

A student ID is needed to purchase licensed software at a discount through the University.
