Granny’s Garden School Rummage Sale April 8

Granny’s Garden School will be holding its annual Rummage and Bake Sale on Sat., April 8, at the Loveland Elementary School, 600 Loveland-Madeira Road, Loveland, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.The school is seeking donations of everything except computers and large appliances.Items can be dropped off at the Loveland ElementaryCafeteria on Friday, April 7 from 3:30 to 9 p.m.Call the school at 324-2873, if you need to bring anything prior to that date. Storage is available.

The school also invites other community organizations (i.e. sports teams, scouts, churches, Master Gardeners) to use this event to raise funds for their activities.

Granny’s Garden School is a non-profit garden school program located on the grounds of the Loveland Primary and Elementary Schools, 550 Loveland-Madeira Road, Loveland.

The school uses the gardens to teach across the curriculum.Community service opportunities are available, including working with the students in the gardens, watering, picking bouquets, hauling mulch, puttering in the test gardens, doing graphic design,putting together Power Point presentationsand working on Advisory Committees with the Board of Directors.

The school is looking for volunteers with experience in human resources to assist with developing the administrative infrastructure, also to help guide the 4th Grade students in writing a series of books about Life in Granny’s Gardens.

In addition, the school has unpaid intern positions available, from assisting teachers in the gardens (environmental education) to garden management. The school also needs garden reporters to write articles for the GGS newsletter.
