Thank you all for contributing to my family. Your generosity and kindness warmed my heart.I am happy to say that the benefit went extremely well. The event started at 4:00 p.m. and by 4:30 we had a packed house! We had several auctions and raffles as well as various other booths manned by random members of my family. The grand total at the end of the night exceeded $4000.00! When we told my dad and step-mom what the final tally was, they hugged and my step-mom exclaimed, “We can get your new leg now!” That made it all worth it!
I wish that you all could have been there to meet my dad and know how wonderful of a person he is. His smile and determination light up every heart that meets him, so it doesn’t surprise me that there was such an outpour of support from the community. Several former patients and the surviving spouses of some of his critical patients came up to me during the course of the benefit to tell me how much of an angel my father was to them or their loved one during their time of need. I got so many hugs and “thank yous” that it made me proud to be a part of this man’s life. Most people dream that their parents are super-heroes, but to many people in Columbus and Newark Ohio, my dad has been more than a hero and a caretaker; he has been their saving grace. You should be proud that you gave to such a noble cause, as with your help my father may be able to return to work more quickly and help more people.
Your efforts and support meant the world to him and to all of us. I sincerely want to thank each and every one of you for every minute and dollar you spent to help my family.
Thank you, thank you thank you, thank you. I don’t think I can thank you enough. You are all wonderful, and I truly appreciate your support.
