The Cincinnati Women’s Film Festival retuned to RWC last Saturday. The day-long event started at noon and lasted until 7:30 p.m. Filmmakers converged on RWC from countries all over the world, including Cuba, South Africa, and Vietnam.
The films covered such wide ranging topics as Padded Lilies (synchronized swimmers who promote body acceptance), garment workers who create beauty pageants for themselves, teenage girls from New Orleans who film their life stories, and the strange relationship between women and their handbags.
In all, seventeen films were screened, ranging from animation to experimental film to documentaries. There was also a lively discussion with guest filmmakers Catherine Rios and Lynn Estomin.
