“I don’t think that young teens (males or females) are ready to have kids. I’m 17, and I know that when I was in junior high there were girls that were pregnant and guys close to the same age getting them pregnant, and they’re now 17 and 18 with four-year-olds. A lot of times these babies just end up getting taken care of by their grandparents, or the parent has to drop out of school and tries to take care of them. Most often, it just creates uneducated parents or unwanted children, and these babies having babies never have the chance to really live their lives.”

By the time I graduated high school, there were three girls in my grade that had babies. That doesn’t sound like many, unless you knew that I only graduated with 80 people in my class. These girls all love their kids immensely, but I know how hard it has been for them to support their children, and I know that none of them planned on having a baby. Also these girls were not brought up in the greatest household, which I think unfortunately had an effect on a lot of their life choices. So with that being said, I don’t think any young teen really ever wants to have children at a young age, but I believe they have the capability to love those children, and take care of them, even if they didn’t expect to have them.”

“Personally, I really have no opinion on the matter, other than that usually it happens accidentally, which could be a bad thing because it is so unexpected. I don’t think any less of the people who are having the children. It is a beautiful thing bringing someone into the world, but that person just needs to be ready, so that their life can be somewhat easier.”

“I think no teenager is ever ready for the situation, but in most cases they adjust to it. Some of my friends had children at a young age, and it has become the highlite of their lives. Most everyone I know who’s had children have done well with their lives. Anyone has the capability of taking care of their child, regardless of how old they are. It just depends on how they do it.
