Criminal Justice courses to be offered here for summer

UC’s Criminal Justice Department in the College of Education, Criminal Justice and Human Services has teamed up with RWC to make it easier for students to earn their bachelor’s degree in criminal justice. Students can register for the following courses, which will be available during the upcoming Summer Term, beginning June 19. Clifton tuition charges will apply.

Drugs and Crime (Course #: 18-CJ-387-528, Call #:801406), 3 Credit Hours, Instructor: Gibson, TH, 6:30-9:10 p.m., June 19-July 25. This course will be examining issues regarding the relationship between drugs and crime to include theoretical, measurement, and policy-related issues.

Juvenile Delinquency (Course #: 18-CJ-405-528, Call #: 801402), 3 Credit Hours, Instructor: Bourke, MW, 6:30-9:10 p.m., June 19-July 25. This course will be examining various dimensions of the juvenile offender to include a discussion of the measurements, the correlates, the theories, and the parameters of juvenile offending.

Correctional Rehabilitation (Course #: 18-CJ-341-628, Call #: 801404), 3 Credit Hours, Instructor: Strouse, MW 6:30-9:10 p.m., July 26-August 31. This course is an overview of case management and counseling strategies in correctional settings and will include the development of treatment plans, counseling theory, components of the helping process, and the principles of confidentiality, correctional classification and characteristics of program effectiveness.

Crime Prevention (Course #: 18-CJ-407-628, Call #: 801405), 3 Credit Hours, Instructor: Weber, MW 6:30-9:10 p.m., July 26-August 31. This course will examine crime prevention and the latest strategies used by police agencies to reduce crime.
