Movie Review: The evil of plucking out eyes

Whatever you do, don’t say the date May 19. Oh man! I typed it! Now WWE Superstar Kane is going to come pluck my eyes out! That was just what “See No Evil” was about–a psycho killer at a hotel plucking out people’s eyes. This is the first production by WWE Films, and with help from Lionsgate, this movie was better than what I had expected. The movie is about a group of eight delinquents who are sent to the Blackwell Hotel to do some renovating to the place. What they don’t know is that there is a killer in the hotel with them.

The story behind the deranged actions of Jacob Goodnight (played by WWE Superstar Kane) is an interesting one but has been used in movies before–a psycho mother who mistreats her child and causes him to go crazy.

That sounds somewhat like the movie “Carrie,” right? Anyway, the reason he plucks peoples eyes out is that “The eyes are the window to the soul.” Everyone’s eyes are evil, it seems to him.

My only real problem with the movie, however, is that they rushed the first half of the movie. You can’t really get to know some of the characters that get killed off early. After one person gets killed, the next scene is someone else getting killed. I felt it was pointless to have them in the movie. I guess it was just to have someone for Goodnight to kill and save the heroes of the story.

If I had to give this movie a grade, it would be a C, because it was an average horror movie that didn’t really frighten but had an okay storyline to it.
