Sample cultural cuisine all year at Montague’s Cafe

From Oct. 2006 to May 2007, the RWC Multicultural Affairs Office, in conjunction with Montague’s Cafe, is sponsoring a series called “Culture & Cuisine.” Helen Kegler, Director of the Multicultural Affairs Office, described it as “a series of delectable dishes that typically represent food of a particular culture.” The dishes will be offered in recognition of a group’s cultural month.

“Montague’s has broadened its menu this year to include a host of ethnic dishes, monthly,” Kegler said. “On display each month near Montague’s will also be pertinent tidbits of information about that particular culture’s contributions to society, supplied by the Multi Cultural Affairs Office.

“We invite the RWC campus to revisit or try for the first time some of these ethnic dishes and combos and glance at the cultural information posted,” Kegler added. “Prizes will occasionally be awarded to those who evidence the learning of some fact about the culture featured that month.”

The following “Culture & Cuisine” will be offered:

October: Hispanic, German Polish Cultural Heritage Month
November: Native American Heritage Month
December: Holiday Expression
January: Asian New Year
February: African American History Month
March:Irish American History Month
April: Easter Delight
May: Worldfest, Booth at Diversity Fair
