Since this year began, you may or may not have noticed a new student lounge across from the Security Office in Muntz hall. One of the biggest secrets on campus seems to be this new “playground.” The new student “playground” is equipped with two pool tables, a ping pong table, a large flat screen TV, a DVD player, and occasionally an X Box or PS2. The lounge also includes an old style arcade system.
The lounge is capable of entertaining far more than it currently does. While the computer lab is packed all hours of the morning and early afternoon, the student lounge never seems to have more than five or six relaxing students in it.
Maybe this is the result of our seriously studious ethic here at RWC, or maybe it’s just because you have never heard of this place, since it is kind of packed away back by the Bookstore and Security Office.
If you spend time in the lounge, it’s obvious to see why students would chose to frequent it. Just a few minutes playing pool is more than enough to get your mind off the strenuous scholastic schedule we endure here at Ray’s place.
So if you have a few minutes free, you might want to check out the student lounge and kick your feet up and relax. Just make sure you stay away from a couple of pool sharks who have set up shop in there recently. They are pretty good.
