Phi Theta Kappa: the little known student organization

There are many student organizations on this campus. You can practically find an organization for any of your interests. With most of them, all you have to do is give a little of your time, and you are a part of a group that cares. There is a little known organization called Phi Theta Kappa, Upsilon Psi Chapter that is semi-exclusionary. You have to be invited to become a part of the group.

Invited? Why? Phi Theta Kappa is an international honor society. You are invited when you have at least 24 credit hours and a 3.2 GPA. We are an international honor society, and every year we are given a service project that must be completed. This year, it is all about Project Green-keeping our communities clean.

Along with the lasting friendships you can make, there are perks with this organization. There are many scholarships you can apply for, and you get a letter of recommendation from the society for job applications. President Anthony Rowe, Vice President Amanda Wiseman, Secretary Stephanie Bothwell, and Treasurer Amy Edelman urge you to accept your invitation when you receive it in the Spring Quarter. You will make lasting friends and help your community at the same time.

This is an organization set up to help you excel and make our communities better. If you care about your GPA and the community, then this is the right organization for you.

So, when you receive your invitation, don’t throw it away, but give our organization a chance.
