The Chair of the RWC Buildings and Grounds Committee, Dr. Frank Wray, announced recently that the first phase for the Muntz renovation is about 95 percent complete. This renovation is scheduled to be completed in three phases, according to Professor Wray, and will include an upgrade of current classrooms. The future plans for the Muntz renovation for the next phases include moving College Relations into one of the existing classrooms on the second floor. This has been considered good news for the campus as originally it was believed that two classrooms may have been taken in order for College Relations to move in from the house at the end of Muntz parking lot.
Some of improvements that are scheduled to be completed after the renovations include the addition of several Smart classrooms on the second floor of Muntz, removal of a lab bench from a classroom, and bathroom improvements.
After all of the phases are complete and College Relations has been moved to their permanent space, there will be no net loss of classrooms.
The House that is currently holding College Relations will be used for storage and the two handicap parking spaces around the entrance of the building might be reissued as student/general parking, Wray said.
