The Veterinary Technology Program is still as popular as ever, according to Professor David Bauman, Director of the Program. Despite the admittance of 70 new freshmen, he says there are still plenty of students on the waiting list. One thing students enrolled in the Vet. Tech. Program can look forward to, Bauman says, is a chance to actually work in a number of animal care facilities throughout the area.
The “Cats on Campus” program has been replaced with weekly trips to the Hamilton County SPCA, the Clermont County Humane Association, and UCAN (a spay and neuter clinic located in Downtown Cincinnati).
Every Friday, beginning Oct. 19, students will rotate between the three locations and work on the clinic’s feline patients. Students will be expected to do physicals, vaccinations, and worming, as well as to treat external parasites (fleas, ticks, etc.).
