To go along with the release of their fourth studio album, “The Walk,” the Pop-Rock-Indie band, Hanson toured the US. Unfortunately, they didn’t hit Cincinnati, and no tour dates for the future have been posted (tear). During the tour, the band took one mile walks around the venues they were playing. They walked barefoot to benefit HIV/AIDS in Africa.
They have also been working with Tom’s Shoes to donate shoes to African children in need. For every pair of Tom’s shoes sold, another pair goes to help a child, a matching pair.
The brothers are still keeping it up, despite oldest brother Ike’s recent hospitalization. He was hospitalized for venous thorasic outlet syndrome or “Paget-Schroeder Syndrome.” He had to have life-saving surgery at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas Texas. He is doing fine now, happy and healthy, keeping up his “Walk.”
The brothers had to reschedule some of their concerts, but all is well. The new album was released last July 24, with good reviews from music critics. People Magazine, normally pretty choosy with albums, put “The Walk” in their Quick Cuts and gave it two and a half stars. They really liked the song “Go” (which is the seventh track on the album) and called it “Pure pop bliss.”
My faves: “Been There Before,” “Running Man,” “Go,” “Blue Sky,” and “Something Going Round.
