The RWC Office of Outreach and Continuing Education is offering the following non-credit classes for Winter Quarter:* Mondays, 3:45-6:15 p.m., Workshop: Health Education. 18 HPE 673 828, Call Number: 504658, 3 Credit Hours. No prerequisite.
The class will be taught by Carrie Janszen. During this workshop, students will learn about and discuss the importance of good oral health and how poor dental health affects cardiovascular disease, diabetes, HIV, and premature low birth weight in infants.
Also discussed will be the importance of regular dental visits, problems in dental care access, and helping patients achieve optimal oral health.
* Wednesdays, 12-12:50 p.m., Exploring Dietics and Nutrition. 35 NUTR 282 828, Call Number: 502728, 1 Credit Hour.No prerequisite. Taught by Cyndee Stegeman, this class is open to all freshmen and introduces students to the field of dietetics and nutrition in relation to its history and practices in the healthcare system.
* Mondays, 3:30-5:40 p.m., Great Discoveries in Archaeology. 15 ANTH 204 828, Call Number: 509138, 3 Credit Hour.No prerequisite. Taught by Susan Allen, this course surveys important prehistoric discoveries worldwide and examines them from the perspective of archaeological science and anthropology theory. This course also critiques popular culture presentations of the past.
