The Video Production I class in eMedia recently recorded a video as a public service for the American Cancer Society (ACS) entitled “Look Good.Feel Better.” This video was a training program for cosmetologists who work with cancer patients. A collaboration between the Video Production I students and faculty, along with ACS members, the video will soon be used in training by the ACS.
RWC eMedia Professor Michael Sanders was the producer of the project. Lou Olenick was the manager. She made sure that the plans in filming the video were organized and met deadlines. Pete Bender directed the Video Production I students as they taped the session. In the pre-production meeting, these eMedia members met with Peter Osborne, PR Director of the ACS, in brainstorming ideas for this training video.
“The dilemma,” Sanders explained, “is that nurses aren’t always available to train the cosmetologists.” This video’s purpose was training for those cosmetologists to meet the needs of those cancer patients, sensitizing them in learning how to handle certain issues that may arise.
Their objective is to help their patients, as denoted by the video’s title, “Look Good. Feel Better.
