Lots of jobs open at Career Fairs

With the tight and competitive job market college students are facing these days, RWC made the tedious job search even easier with its annual Career Fairs. Students filled the hallways of SAHB and Muntz on April 15 and 16, moving from table to table, speaking and networking with representatives of employers located across the Greater Cincinnati Area. The April 15 Science and Allied Health Career Fair hosted numerous employers from Mercy Hospital to the Health Alliance of Greater Cincinnati.

These companies offered job opportunities in the fields of Dental Hygiene, Emergency Medical Services, Biochem, Biological Technology, Chemistry, Medical Assisting, Medical Billing, Medical Transcription, Nursing, Radiation Science, Radiation Therapy, and Veterinary Technology.

The April 16 General Career Fair saw visits from employers such as the Cincinnati Police Department, Jonathon Scott International, and Fifth Third Bank.

These companies came with vacant positions in the fields of Accounting, Executive and Legal Administrative, Administrative Management, Business, Financial Services, Information Systems, Real Estate, Sales, Marketing, Communication Design, Computer Support, Electronic Media, Web Design, and Web Programming.

Most students came well prepared to present themselves to employers, dressed in casual business attire while dishing out resume after resume.

“It’s a near once in a lifetime thing to have career oriented, well paying jobs come looking for you,” said RWC communications student Michael Lewicki. “I definitely take advantage of opportunities like these.”

If you missed out on the Career Fairs, plenty of opportunities to be assisted with your job hunt still remain. Career Services Placement Officer Tresha Lewis and the rest of the staff in the Career Services office are always more than willing to help students prepare resumes and assist with other career oriented needs.
