WorldFest 2008 is set to kick off April 25 and continue through May 2. Traditionally meant to highlight and celebrate the diverse culture at UC, this year’s celabration is designed to go a little further.Organizers are encouraging groups showcasing their heritage or other special interests during the week long festival to include in their exhibition references that will go along with this year’s slogan “Worldfest Goes Green,” in hopes to raise the level of environmental awareness and responsibility.
Current Planned activities are as follows:
April 25: Faces of RWC
April 28: “The Freedom Tunnel” Exhibit, Peace Conference, Worldfest Official Kickoff, Evening Kickoff and RWC’s “Green Walk For Life”
April 29: Focus on China, Tea and Community Conversation
April 30: Diversity Fair, Various Musical Performances, specialty booths
May 1: Reading Across Cultures
May 2: Grand Finale
