Do you ever wonder, while you are enjoying a bag of Cheetos, how many calories there are in one Cheeto? Not to worry. There aren’t that many calories in one, so you can enjoy them all, according to the Great Cheeto Experiment.
Yes, that’s right, there has been an experiment on Cheetos. The Great Cheeto Experiment is actually a video produced and directed by Andrea Rahtz in the RWC Electronic Media Technology Department. This video was produced in one of the Biology labs in the SAHB this October.
The video, which was produced for Professor Jennifer Ellis in the Nursing Department, is about burning a single Cheeto to see how many calories are actually in one Cheeto alone. The Cheeto was burned over water that began at 27 degrees Celsius and ended at 29 degrees Celsius.
The entire video took about a month to complete. Doing the script, shooting, and voiceovers were part of this month long experience. The actual shooting only took four hours to do, but the video itself is only about three minutes long.
Chris Gantzer, current student production worker in Electronic Media, had helped out with this video assisting with scriptwriting, production and some of the voiceovers.
“The experience was fun, and I have learned some production work outside of class!” he said. “This was a great opportunity for me.”
Another video shot in the past month is called “Vegetable Theatre.” This video uses real fruits and vegetables as puppets. The purpose of this video was to show the viewers how many vitamins are really in fruits and veggies.
Both videos are being shown in some Electronic Media classes so that the students can get an idea what types of videos are made in eMedia Communication’s Production Services.
