A historic election: I believe in the change

What’s going on now? Barack Obama! And yes, I am very proud of him and our country that went out and voted. In my opinion, I believe that we voted the right way. I am proud of our country for taking the responsibility for making change and for making history. In my opinion, this should be in the history books for every student to study and learn.

Is this all about race? No, we all saw the variety and diversity of people who went out and voted. However, I believe that every African American should cherish this moment because this is a new beginning for us. This is an action that our ancestors hoped for and would be surprised to see.

To see an African American make change in this day and age is a dream come true. To see Obama and Biden come together with their families on the night of November 4 showed unity in our country.

So instead of thinking negatively or being bitter about the situation, let’s think positively and give it a chance. We’ve done this with our previous presidents, so let’s keep it going.

It is also a great idea for Obama and McCain to work together, because together they bring experience, integrity, determination and loyalty to the White House.
