Competition will recognize year’s best student design work

The RWC Department of Art and Visual Communication is having its annual poster competition again this year for Communication Design majors only. The annual poster that will be produced from the competition recognizes Communication Design students’ talents and skills. This poster showcases the best work every year from all art classes in the program and is a big deal for the participating students. All professors in the Department get together every quarter and pick the best artwork for that quarter. During the Spring Quarter, the faculty then get together to pick a final decision for all the work to be put into the poster. Though the final decision isn’t made until the spring, the actual poster isn’t produced until the summertime.

The poster will include the best RWC student design work, graphic design, typography, promotional/publication, package design, corporation identity, and symbols. When the posters are completed, they will be framed and hung in the Library and used as promotional pieces for the Department.

These posters are annually sent to regional schools to showcase the Department and what types of work can be produced here.

Previous posters are all online.
