The month of November is National Career Development Month, and if you are a poet, you can participate in a national poetry and poster contest, sponsored locally by the RWC Career Services Office, located right across from the Bookstore. This year’s theme is “Inspire your career, develop your dreams.” All poetry entries must be in one of the following forms: cinquain, free verse, rhyming, or limerick.
Use only one sheet of paper in 12 point font. For the posters simple bold lettering is preferred. Captions are to be used to convey your message or attract attention to your poster and show originality.
There are two categories to choose from for the poster part of the contest. In category one, use standard ink, pencil, poster paints, magic marker, acrylics, and oils.
In category two, photos, clipart, graphic art, software, collage, cut and pasted paper and mixed media can be used. Each poster must be 8.5 x 11 inches, including matte, to be eligible. Submit entries to Career Services in Muntz Hall Room 125, by November 10. All entries will be judged by a panel of judges.
Since Raymond Walters is the only school in Ohio offering this contest, all winners will go straight to the National contest.
