The RWC Electronic Media Technology Department just came out with its newest video release, called “A Survey of Direct Animation Techniques.” Directed and produced by RWC professors Mike Sanders and David Hartz, the video has two parts to it. The first part is a demonstration of some projects by Kristen Santel (a 2007 Electronic Media graduate). The second part consists of two clips called “Happy Accident” and “Scratching the Surface.”
Todd Uttley (also a 2007 eMedia graduate) helped out by editing and doing the sound. Many of students helped out with the video sequencing. The entire video took about a year to complete.
This video was produced as a way to show what’s done in the animation program. The idea is to show teachers photo concepts following a hands-on project. The whole purpose of this video is to enable students to get an idea of what the major is like.
Both examples from the video were played at film festivals nationally and internationally in places such as Gyor, Hungary, and the 20/20 festival here in Cincinnati, among others.
