RWC Electronic Media Students are able to transfer easily to the DAAP program at main campus, according to a recent announcement. A transfer articulation agreement has been formally signed between Raymond Walters and the Uptown Campus’s DAAP program. The agreement was developed by RWC Professor H. Michael Sanders, who is Head of the eMedia Program here, and Professor Denise Burge, Associate Professor of Art at DAAP and undergraduate academic advisor. This is something that was negotiated in the 2002-2003 school year but had become more formal recently and has been tested over the last several years with numerous students.
This has been a positive and successful change for students who are pursuing a bachelor’s degree, because the students are able to go out and get a job with this and be successful in their field.
This change is good because it is a way for these students to transfer without losing any credits that they already have.
The students in the department are leaving RWC with a strong background and then can go on to expand and learn more in DAAP. Data shows that while expanding their knowledge, RWC students who have transferred to DAAP have faced many challenges but have done very well and graduated. Students who have transferred from RWC into the program at DAAP have agreed that they have been well prepared.
The RWC eMedia Department is currently working with other campuses to see if students can transfer to other colleges in the arts and sciences.
