Movie Review: “Friday the 13th” another horror classic

Who says that horror films are only for Halloween time? Sure they may be creepier and scarier around then, but they are just as good any time of the year as they are around Halloween time. The scary mood is more there in October, but with “Friday the 13th” the terror is there year round.Everyone who knows the Jason movies well enough knows that he drowned as a child at Camp Crystal Lake. This explains Jason’s fear of water. Jason is alive and when people come into his territory: he terrorizes them and kills them.

The story begins with his mom being killed, but did she really die that night or did she come back to life? You have to see the movie to find out the answer.

A group of kids decide to go camping one weekend. The kids build a campfire, and a story is told about Camp Crystal Lake and how Jason was there and was killed, and so the camp has been closed for 20 years.

This is a pure classic horror story for a campfire. But nobody thought the story was true or would happen to them because Jason is just a fairy tale, right? Wrong!

While camping, they decide to do some hiking and exploring. A locket necklace is found and inside are two pictures of Jason’s mom.

Jason slowly gets them one by one, killing them with a hatchet, by fire, or even with his own hands. All are dead, except for one girl who survives. But what happens to this girl? I’m not going to tell you, because it would be a spoiler!

A month later a group of friends go to a small cottage home just a small distance from the camp. One of the guy’s sisters was killed by Jason but he doesn’t know it and is now searching for her.

He is handing out flyers. One stop is at a very creepy house. Pay attention to this part and you will see who it is!

Some disappear while doing some errands, and they never return. Others take the boat out on to the lake, and the same thing happens. But Jason is terrified of water so how did he get to the couple in the boat? A guy gets killed out in the tool shed. Later, Jason is seen with a beheaded person.

The end is approaching. Jason is trying to kill the last two people. Who you wonder? Jason is trying to kill these two people when the necklace is pulled out and one of the survivors says to him, “Jason, it’s okay.” And he settles down and stops. His mom says these words to him.

But it’s a trap for Jason. He gets pushed through a grinder and dumped into the lake. But is he really dead? Did he survive the attack? I’ve said enough at this point. Those Jason fans out there know what happens. But do you? This is another pure but classic horror film that keeps you thinking well after it’s over.
